About B-CC Crew
The crew team at B-CC is independent, privately run and privately funded as a club sport. It is not part of the MCPS system, which means it receives no financial support or other assistance from the school or the county. Support for the program comes from dues paid by members of the team and several fundraising events each year. The program is lead by a volunteer board of directors elected each year at an annual meeting of the full membership of the organization.
The program supports 75 to 100 student athletes each year and has seen real success across the 30 years it has been in existence. It is one of the fastest rowing programs in the DMV and regularly medals at some of the most competitive high school racing events in the country. In the 2023-24 school year, the team won the girls 8+ and boys 4+ points tropies at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Rowing Association Championship with gold medals earned across all squads. At the Stotesbury Regatta, the largest high school rowing event in America, the team won gold in the boys 4+ category, silver in the girls 2v 8+ category, and bronze in the girls 1v 8+ category. The boys went on to take silver at the SRAA national championships.
